Worship Leader

Position Objective or Purpose: 



The Worship Leader should have a passion for leading people into the presence of God. In addition to being a highly skilled musician and leader, you should be well versed in contemporary, Spirit-filled praise and worship music that puts the spotlight on Jesus. We are seeking a leader who is all in for Jesus, stirred by His presence, growing in His sanctifying grace, and willing to be on mission through the life of Grace Community Church.



Position Description & Responsibilities: 





  • Leads our congregation in Spirit-filled worship, inspiring us to follow Jesus.


  • Coordinates directly with senior pastor, the choir director, and the worship team for planning Sunday services and outreach events intended especially to reach young families and people in dark corners of life.


  • Initially, 20 – 25 hours per week, but pray we will continue growing to where this can become full-time.


  • Willing to become an integral part of the life of our church.


  • Leads rehearsals on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings, and helps to lead 2-3 special events throughout the year, including those outside the walls of Grace Community Church.


  • Meets weekly with the pastor and other staff for 2 hours of prayer, devotional, and planning.


  • Responsible for music selection, Pro Presenter worship slides, praise team / musicians practice, communicating the order of service and worship budget.


  • You will be afforded opportunities to use your God-given passion, talent, and skills outside of Grace Community to include attending worship leader events and services including a few Sundays a year.


  • This position reports to the senior pastor and Staff Parish Relations Committee.




Qualifications:





  • The Worship Leader must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, a desire for ongoing spiritual maturity, seek to live a holy life according to God’s Biblical standards, and exemplify the fruit of the Spirit.


  • Possess a passion for worship.


  • Demonstrated excellence as a worship leader, a musician and a vocalist – (volunteer leaders may apply).


  • Skilled in leading, recruiting, and organizing musicians, praise team, and other volunteers.


  • A self-starter with a positive, enthusiastic presence, who can help stir the church into authentic worship.




Desired Abilities (We’re willing to help train you in any of these as long as you’re willing to learn):





  • Proficient in multi-media presentations for music. Embraces the use of technology in worship and skilled in the use of sound, lighting, computers, Pro Presenter, video projection, and set design for sermon series.


  • Understands the depth and challenge required to blend the vocalists, microphones, sound system, online streaming, and all other aspects to deliver a balanced sound experience.


  • Organized in all administrative aspects of the position to ensure timely and orderly rehearsals and services.
