Christian Covenant Fellowship is seeking a senior pastor to lead our church in all aspects of spiritual growth and discipleship.
The applicant should possess strong relational and leadership skills, a passion to shepherd the flock while guiding and empowering others to take on roles in the work of the ministry, and be able to effectively communicate God’s Word through teaching and preaching.
The applicant will be expected to meet the qualifications listed in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1 and be in agreement with CCF’s Statement of Faith as outlined on our webpage.
CCF was formed in 1990 with a body of believers from a wide variety of Christian denominational backgrounds. We are an evangelical church with a strong desire to ensure Jesus remains preeminent and the reason for all that we do. While our body is multi-generational with approximately 60% of our body over the age of 50, we are compelled to reach younger families to prepare for the future. We are consistently generous and support a wide variety of local and international missions. We are strongly focused on our region and deeply rooted in our community.
You may think of Illinois as Chicago or the flat farmlands of central Illinois, but southern Illinois is neither. There is an official metropolitan area running from Carbondale to Marion, but small towns and rural area are most common. We are blessed with a number of lakes including Rend Lake, Crab Orchard, Devil’s Kitchen, Little Grassy, and Lake of Egypt. These are joined by parks such as Giant city and the Shawnee National Forest to make the area an outdoor dream.
Southern Illinois is also an educational center. SIU in Carbondale, a major PhD granting institution, is 20 minutes from Carterville. John A. Logan College, located in Carterville, ranks among the best community colleges in the state. The Carterville School District is among the top 5% in Illinois.
These factors and more make southern Illinois a most desirable place to live and raise a family.
